Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho are among the star names battling it out to become the outright top scorer in this year’s Copa América.

Brazil will meet Peru in the final on Sunday at the Maracanã, but there is no single top scorer currently in the competition.

And there are 14 players who are level in the race to become the 2019 edition’s leading scorer.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, there is no criteria to determine who the outright winner would be if the deadlock is not broken in the final.

It would mean that the award would be shared among all of the players sitting on two apiece in the goalscoring chart, with penalties scored in a shootout not counting to the final tally.

Five of the names at the top of the pile will have a chance to pull ahead in the final, while the rest will have to watch on as the host nation look to beat underdogs Peru.

Posted below are the 14 players who are currently the top scorers in the 2019 Copa América.

It’s also worth remembering that another player could move level with the aforementioned 14 players or even leapfrog them to become the top scorer.

Brazil’s Gabriel Jesus has scored once against Argentina in the semi-finals and could find the back of the net against Peru in the final.

And Peru’s Jefferson Farfán and Brazil’s Willian also have one to their names, but both have been ruled out of the final with a left knee injury and thigh injury respectively.
