The new era at Arsenal has proven to be very exciting. Since Arsene Wenger’s departure, the Gunners have been eyeing young talents from all around Europe. The next player on the list is Borussia Dortmund‘s, Julian Weigl. As the club look to improve and challenge for silverware, many talented players are needed to help the club reach its goal.

During the summer, Arsenal invested in a young star from Sampdoria called Lucas Torreira. This player is excelling at the club, making them realize that buying young players is rewarding. Arsenal have now turned their sights toward Germany, Julian Weigl the target.

Another midfielder is needed at the club. Weigl is a great passer and playmaker, attracting interest from top clubs around the world, including Manchester City. He averages a pass success rate of 93%. However, Dortmund have decided that he isn’t ready to play at such a high level, though last season he competed perfectly with the club. His lack of playing time opened the door to elite clubs who will fulfill his demands.

The 23-year-old is looking for regular playing time at a big club. Since his arrival in Dortmund from 1860 Munich, he impressed. Borussia Dortmund got a bargain by only paying €2.5 million for the midfielder. Recently, Dortmund coach Lucien Favre has made it clear Julian Weigl is no longer a regular starter. The coach is still happy to have the youngster in his squad and is willing to keep him, though at the moment he will not guarantee anything for the German.

According to German outlet Sport Bild, Unai Emery is a fan of Weigl and wants him to join the club next summer. It is likely that Arsenal will need to pay over €50 million for the player, with Man City also in the race. Weigl will make an impact wherever he goes, his future is uncertain as many clubs try to sign such a promising talent.
