Bayern Munich Agree Personal Terms With RB Leipzig Striker Timo Werner
Bayern Munich love nothing more than poaching the very best players the rest of the Bundesliga has to offer and it seems as though they’ve added another one to the long list.
While there has been no official offer as of yet, it’s said that this agreement with 22-year-old will put serious pressure on Leipzig.
Werner is expected to either make the move to Munich in the upcoming summer transfer window, or a year later when his contract with Leipzig expires.
Werner, who has hit an impressive 45 league goals in the last three seasons, was heavily courted by Liverpool but it does appear as though he will become the latest top talent in Germany to end up at the Allianz Arena.
Manuel Neuer, Mario Gotze, Sebastian Rudy, Robert Lewandowski, Mats Hummels, Serge Gnabry, Niklas Sule and Leon Goretzka are just some of the many big Bundesliga players to join Bayern in recent years, with VFB Stuttgart’s World Cup winner Benjamin Pavard also tipped to join in the near future.
Borussia Dortmund in particular felt the full force of Bayern’s dominance in the transfer market but in January it was reported by that bosses at the club have ‘passed an internal resolution’ – there will be no more player transfers to FC Bayern in the future.
With Dortmund leading the way and playing some glorious football at the top of the Bundesliga, is believed that in order to permanently challenge their rivals for the league title in the coming years, they have decided that no more star players will be handed over to their direct rivals.
