Bernardo Silva Gives Man Of The Match Award To Phil Foden
‘The Stockport Iniesta’ has often impressed when given the opportunity to feature in the first team.
Clearly manager Pep Guardiola has the utmost confidence in the 18-year-old after his latest inclusion in one of the biggest games of the season.
It was a day to remember for the teenager. Foden headed in a Sergio Aguero cross in the fifth minute, opening his account for the Blues.
But he wasn’t selected for the Man of the Match award.
Bernardo Silva, who contributed massively to both the defensive and attacking side of things against Pochettino’s side, was given the coveted prize.
But the Portuguese international will not go home with the trophy after deciding to hand it over to his teammate in a wonderful gesture:
“”No…I would like to hand it over to Phil,” he said to Sky Sports.
“I honesty think he deserves it. He is young and is a fantastic player. This one is for you!”
Now this might just be the best post-match interview of the season thus far – he isn’t just a class act on the pitch.
Silva has had a wonderful season under Guardiola, and he deservedly received a nomination for both the PFA Young Player Of The Year and the PFA Player Of The Year earlier.
You can see why he’s up there after Saturday’s performance against Spurs.
Is Bernardo Silva one of the best players in the Premier League right now?
