On February 20th, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone told the world that his team had cajones by pointing to his crotch.

“It’s not a nice gesture, I admit, but I felt the need to do it,” he told the media after the full-time whistle.

“I did it as a player at Lazio and I did it again to show our fans that we have cojones. I can only apologize if anyone was offended. It wasn’t aimed at the other team, I was turning towards our own supporters.”

It was an iconic moment but three weeks later, it would eventually comeback to haunt him.

Ahead of the tie, Cristiano Ronaldo promised to his family and friends that he would score a hat-trick against Atletico Madrid, despite being 2-0 behind, and he duly delivered on a special night in Turin.

The 34-year-old opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a bullet header, and added to his tally just four minutes into the second half, using his head once more to level the tie.

Then, in dramatic fashion, Juventus were given a penalty in the 86th minute and that man Ronaldo converted in style.

Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak had no chance as his manager Simeone looked on in disbelief, but that wasn’t the end for the Argentinian manager.

After the full-time whistle blew, as Juventus players celebrated one of the great Champions League comebacks, Simeone was forced to look on as the five-time Ballon d’Or winner recreated his famous cajones celebration.

The ultimate troll.
