Diego Costa Could Make Stunning Premier League Return This Summer
Diego Costa could make a shock return to the Premier League this summer as Everton eye up a stunning move for the Atletico Madrid striker.
Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has ordered the club to look into the possibility of acquiring Costa as he hopes to secure a ‘statement signing’ this window according to Daily Mail.
The report also claims Moshiri is prepared to pay big bucks for a high-profile striker.
Costa’s days in Madrid appear to be numbered with the 30-year-old linked with a move back to England’s top flight. The all-action player nearly joined Everton in 2017 before signing for Atletico Madrid.
Of course, he enjoyed a prolific spell with Chelsea from 2014 to 2017.
He bagged a combined 52 league goals across three seasons as he won an impressive two league titles.
The prospect of Costa plying his trade at Goodison Park has divided opinion online. Here’s some reaction from social media:
The Blues, who finished eighth last season in the Premier League, have already snapped up goalkeeper Jonas Lossl and Andre Gomes from Barcelona for £22.5 million.
Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, sealed the signing of Alvaro Morata on a permanent deal following his loan spell from Chelsea.
