Everton Reveal Stunning Plans For New 52,000 Capacity Stadium

Everton have revealed stunning plans for their new £500 million, 52,000 capacity stadium on the banks of the river Mersey.

The Toffees are swapping their current home at the historic Goodison Park for a more modern facility as part of the Bramley Moore Dock and shared plans to 800 of club’s supporters at an event this evening.

The project is being headed up by architect Dan Meis, famous for his work on sports stadiums in Rome, Cincinnati and Japan – and the ground itself is described as “a stunning brick, steel and glass design which takes its inspiration from the buildings nearby”.

A key feature of the new stadium will be a home stand to the south that will be able to cram 13,000 passionate Evertonians behind the goal, in a single tier while they are designing the lower tiers of two stands in the event that safe standing areas in the Premier League are introduced.

Everton expect to submit the aforementioned plans by the end of this year and according to the official club website, are hopeful of playing at the waterfront stadium in 2023.

Thanks to research conducted, the club believe the new stadium could bring a £1 billion boost to the economy in Liverpool, potentially creating 15,000 new jobs.

Crucially, Everton are involving their fans in the whole process through ‘The People’s Project’ scheme they have set up, with the second consultation period taking place until 25 August.
