Ex-Soldier Tells Incredible Story Of How Ray Wilkins Helped Him
Today marks one year since the great Ray Wilkins sadly passed away and while many have paid tribute to the former Manchester United and Chelsea player for his ability on the pitch, an incredible radio interview involving a former soldier shows how much of a gentlemen he was off it.
The 61-year-old lifted two league titles in Scotland, a FA Cup and was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
It’s clear that the 61-year-old was also well thought of outside the glitz and glamour of Premier League football too, as a former soldier told TalkSPORT shortly after his passing.
The caller opened up about being homeless and his struggles with a gambling addiction.
Wilkins was more than happy to talk about as the pair sat on a piece of cardboard outside Brompton Station.
An incredible human being who is sorely missed.
