Fabregas Picks His Best XI Of Former Teammates And It's Outrageous - FootyNews.co.uk

Cesc Fabregas has named his best XI of former teammates and it’s outrageous.

He’s played with some of the very best players in world football during his spells at Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea.

We’re talking Thierry Henry, Lionel Messi and Eden Hazard.

And, naturally, those names all feature in his all-time XI of former teammates.

He’s posted an image of his side accompanied with the words: “I didn’t know they’d ask me this so I did it very quickly. Only players I played with. I feel Puyol & Villa should be there. What are your thoughts?”

Iker Casillas

Dani Alves

John Terry

Gerard Pique

Jordi Alba

Lionel Messi

Patrick Vieira

Andres Iniesta

Eden Hazard

Diego Costa

Thierry Henry

Deadly, deadly team.

Of course, there’s a few notable exclusions. He’s left out Barcelona pair Carles Puyol and David Villa as well as Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp.

But Fabregas has defended his decision to pick Costa over Bergkamp and Villa.

“It’s not about being better, it’s about how well I performed with them. Dennis was unbelievable,” he said when a fan questioned his call.

Fabregas forged a lethal partnership with Costa at Chelsea. He recorded an impressive 19 assists in the 2014/15 season as the Blues won the Premier League title.

While citing Robin van Persie’s fitness issues as the reason for not including him in his team.

“If he had stayed fit all my time at Arsenal I’m sure he’d be in this team. He was very unlucky for a long time.”

Fabregas, though, does believe Puyol is the greatest captain of all time.

What’s your take on his XI? Let us know.
