• Barça answered critics with Manchester City victory
• Mourinho said Spanish club were ‘worst team in many years’
Cesc Fábregas says José Mourinho will “have to shut up now” after Barcelona’s 2-0 Champions League victory over Manchester City.
The Chelsea manager claimed this Barça side were the “worst team in many years” before Tuesday’s game at the Etihad Stadium.
But Fábregas insisted his criticism was way off the mark. “Maybe we had to prove a point in a way,” Fábregas said. “We did it and we did it in style and very, very well.
“But today was one of those days maybe everyone was saying Barcelona was not the same Barcelona.
“Some people were talking a bit too much and as usual they will have to shut up for a few days.”
