Fernando Torres is reportedly set to leave Japanese side Sagan Tosu at the end of the season, but he has no intention of hanging up his boots.

In fact, the 35-year-old Spanish striker already has his eyes set on signing for a new club this summer.

According to Diario AS, Mexican side Atlético San Luis are ready to snap up the ex-Liverpool and Atlético Madrid star.

Speaking of the Spanish club, this move would be like a strange sort of homecoming for Torres. After all, Los Rojiblancos own a 50 per cent stake in San Luis. Yup, it really, really is a small world.

Atlético have multiple players out on loan at San Luis, so Torres might find himself seeing a familiar face or two should he sign for the club.

Midfielder Noah Maya has already welcomed the idea of Torres signing for the club.

“Well, there are rumours that he [Torres] may arrive, the truth is that the first thing I want is to win promotion [to the top flight],” he said (via Football Espana).

“Afterwards, if the Niño Torres or whoever arrives from Atlético can arrive, he will be welcome here.”
