Loan Move for George Marsh as Tottenham Hotspur Midfielder Joins Leyton Orient

League Two newcomers Leyton Orient have secured a loan move for George Marsh from Tottenham Hotspur. The 20-year-old academy players has signed a short-term contract to be reviewed in January 2020.

Leyton Orient Grab Spurs Youngster

George Marsh is a young midfielder who in June 2019 extended his contract for another two years. He is felt to be a player in a similar mould to another academy product, Harry Winks. Described as a tenacious tackling midfielder, Marsh has found his way to the fringes of the first eleven but needs more game time.

EFL Trophy Appearances

Premier League academy sides now play in the EFL Trophy and last season saw Marsh play four times for Tottenham Hotspur’s U21 side.

First Team Debut

George Marsh earned his first-team debut for Spurs in January 2019, featuring in the FA Cup win against Tranmere Rovers. Leyton Orient are looking for the youngster to add steel to their midfield and the player is also adaptable having played in the backline for Tottenham’s academy teams.

International Champions Cup and Audi Cup

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is known for taking academy players on the clubs pre-season tours. This pre-season, George Marsh featured and although not considered. Ready to play a part for the first team just yet, did enough to suggest Pochettino will be keeping an eye on his progress.

A certain Harry Kane had several loan spells away from Tottenham, including a spell at Leyton Orient so Marsh needs to be focused and seize his chance to catch the eye of Tottenham and his Loan club in the coming months.
