Manchester City Have The Most Valuable Squad In World Football
The Premier League’s riches means that England’s top tier has three of the most valuable squads in world football, with Manchester City topping the charts at over £1 billion.
The transfer window has already been open a few weeks and, whilst there’s been some big deals concluded already, we’re waiting for it to really get going.
Right now though it isn’t one of the Spanish giants who have the most valuable squad with Manchester City topping the charts with a squad worth £1.05 billion, according to Transfermarkt.
1. Manchester City – £1.05 billion
2. Liverpool – £1 billion
3. Barcelona – £958.95 million
4. Chelsea – £861.98 million
5. Atletico Madrid – £840.6 million
6. PSG – £830.03 million
7. Spurs – £793.35 million
8. Real Madrid – £784.8 million
9. Manchester United – £706.28 million
10. Bayern Munich – £674.55 million
The Premier League’s riches means that clubs can afford to pay the big money for some of the biggest and best players on the planet.
It also means that it generally costs more to buy players from English clubs, especially if they carry the premium of being an English player, and it makes their teams even more valuable.
Both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are on the verge of making some huge value adding signings according to multiple reports.
Barca have been linked with Antoine Griezmann, from Atleti, and a reunion with Neymar, just two years after he left the Nou Camp.
Atleti look like they might replace the outgoing Griezmann with Benfica youngster Joao Felix, who could be set for a £107 million transfer.
Raheem Sterling’s value of £126 million is amongst the reasons that City sit on top of the table and considering their wealth in the bank and wealth of talent on the pitch it’s no surprise to see them top of the list.
