Manchester United‘s goalkeeper kit for next season has been leaked online and it’s a bit of a stinker.

Footy Headlines have released images of the 2019-2020 goalkeeper shirt, which is based on the AdiPro 19 template and is predominantly purple – with an embossed pattern that looks like something you’d expect to see on a bus seat.

The shorts and socks are also the same colour, with the badge on the shirt inside a shield as a nod to the unprecedented treble triumph in 1999.

And though typically goalkeepers shirts have been pretty loud and out there over the years, this particular design might just be why No.1 goalkeeper David De Gea looks set to be on the move.

The Spaniard has been the club’s Player of the Season for four out of the last five seasons and has won United points on his own with a slew of sensational displays between the sticks.

But he’s not been at it this season, particularly of late – with key errors leading to goals against Barcelona, Manchester City and Chelsea.

And with just a year left on his current deal, his future is very much up in the air – with United said to be ‘seriously considering’ activating the release clause of Atletico Madrid shot-stopper Jan Oblak.

United’s home shirt for next season looks much better than the goalkeeping jersey next season and it includes many more details relating to that famous 1998/1999 season.

As per Footy Headlines, there’s also a nod to the Champions League victory over Bayern Munich, with the times of the two goals printed inside small black boxes on the sleeves.
