Paul Pogba dropped a massive bombshell last month, revealing that it “could be a good time to move elsewhere”.

The Manchester United midfielder has been linked with a big-money move recently but these bold comments surrounding his future all but confirmed his feelings towards a potential transfer away from Old Trafford.

“I am thinking of this: To have a new challenge somewhere else,” Pogba said in an interview with bEIN Sports.

“For me, I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.”

Weeks later, Mino Raiola added fuel to fire by claiming Manchester United have been made aware that Pogba wants to leave Old Trafford.

Speaking to the Times the Italian born Dutchman said: “Everyone within the club from <span class=”paywall-EAB47CFD” “>the manager to the owner knows Paul’s wishes.

“Everyone knows the willingness of Paul to move on. We are in the process of that. Everyone knows what the feelings of Paul are.”

Raiola has often caused controversy in the past and someone who seemed to be aware of his influence was former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who said this back in 2012:

Following Pogba’s comments, an old interview with Ferguson emerged.

“Pogba signed for Juventus a long time ago as far as we’re aware,” he said via the Daily Mirror.

“It’s a bit disappointing because I don’t think he showed us any respect at all. To be honest, if they carry on that way, I’m quite happy that he’s away, from me, anyway.”

Ferguson wasn’t done there. He went on to criticise Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, who clearly has a big influence on his clients when it comes to transfers.

In his autobiography ‘Leading’, the Scotsman said:

“There are one or two football agents I simply do not like. And Mino Raiola, Paul Pogba’s agent, is one of them.”

From his bust-up with former boss Jose Mourinho to his lack of consistency on the pitch, the midfielder has never quite managed to produce consistently for Manchester United.

But he did show glimpses of brilliance when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over, and flourished in a more creative role.

That being said, his latest comments haven’t gone down well with many.
