The Most Ironic Poster Spotted Outside Old Trafford
Let’s be honest; they have struggled for large parts of the season, but the club will be aiming to record a positive result against Cardiff City this afternoon to try and finish on a high.
Win or not, all eyes will be on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer plans following the final game after a not so successful past few windows.
Alexis Sanchez was brought in as the club’s highest earner and has failed to deliver on all accounts, while the likes of Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku have also struggled for consistency.
And as a result have been linked with moves away.
All of the above have struggled to make an impact throughout the season, which makes this poster outside Old Trafford a tad ironic, considering their lack of form.
I know Ed Woodward said the team’s performances have no impact on the club’s commercial income, but surely someone should have thought this one through?
Manchester Evening News reporter Samuel Luckhurst posted a picture online with the caption: “These two haven’t”
Woodward, who has been criticised by fans for his footballing decisions since taking over as executive vice-chairman in 2012, was asked whether success has an impact on their commercial deals last year:
“If I can answer very simply and candidly, playing performance doesn’t really have a meaningful impact on what we can do on the commercial side of the business.” he said.
Just don’t put Lukaku and Sanchez on a poster that says “delivered” next time…
