Moussa Sissoko caught the attention of a fair few people after he wore a special pair of socks in Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League clash.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men walked away from the first-leg quarter-final match with Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium thanks to a late winner from Son Heung-min.

However, the 29-year-old French midfielder marked the occasion by wearing socks with an interesting design.

According to Footy Headlines, the Spurs star is one of the first players to don the new brand of socks.

“Moussa Sissoko is wearing socks of French company Ranna Sport, called the Ranna Sport R-One Grip socks,” Footy Headlines wrote.

“The Ranna Sport[‘s] sports socks focus on three characteristics — support, stability and comfort [that] are made for better grip and less slipping.”

Following on from the match, the Spurs boss was more than happy with the performance that his side put in against the reigning Premier League champions.

“It was an unbelievable game. It was so tough. But it is still Manchester City and there is a second leg,” he told BT Sport.

“We are happy as we showed great quality. The performance was good, but there’s still 90 minutes to go.

“It was a really good game. We were all excited. It’s a quarter-final of the Champions League. The penalty save, I think, gave the belief to us. I think there were many positive things. In the spirit we played today, everything possible.”

The London side are fourth in the Premier League and are one point clear of fifth-placed Arsenal.

Spurs will host Huddersfield Town Town on Saturday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but then they will travel to the Etihad Stadium next week for the second leg of their Champions League clash against City.
