Manchester City starlet Phil Foden has given his verdict on Ben White amid City transfer links.
Brighton defender White has been subject of significant transfer interest this summer, with Arsenal reportedly having two bids (worth £40m and £45m) knocked back in recent weeks.
According to The Transfer Window podcast, the Blues may swoop in ahead of the Gunners and match the Seagulls’ asking price, which is believed to be around the £50m mark.
They claim that initial talks have been held with the player who could replace Spanish centre-half, Aymeric Laporte, at the Etihad this summer if Barcelona decides to make a move for the 27-year-old.
When asked who has shocked him most inside the England camp, Foden told ITV Sport: “I haven’t really seen a lot of Ben. But he’s come in and he’s been brilliant in training, so I’d probably say Ben White.”
White was called up to the Three Lions squad for the Euros after Liverpool fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold was ruled out of the competition with a thigh injury earlier last month.

The former Leeds loanee impressed for Brighton throughout the 2020/21 campaign, earning himself a call-up from Gareth Southgate.
White is yet to appear at the Euros, though, with Harry Maguire, John Stones and Tyrone Mings are all ahead of him in the pecking order as it stands.
England will face off against Ukraine in Rome on Saturday evening for their quarter-final clash, with the winner of the tie due to face Denmark or the Czech Republic at Wembley on July 7.
