While the Milwaukee Bucks revolve around Giannis Antetokounmpo, the team likely won’t see a Game 7 vs. the Nets in the 2021 NBA Playoffs if they don’t get more from Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday. Middleton is hitting just 38 percent of his shots while Holiday is averaging only 14.4 points per game in this series. With the Nets vs. Bucks (8:30 p.m. ET) the only game on Thursday, a shallow NBA DFS player pool means you may have to take chances on players that are underperforming like Antetokounmpo’s supporting cast.
The good news, however, is that players typically perform better at home, which gives both Middleton and Holiday a boost for Thursday’s NBA DFS lineups. Perhaps the Bucks can also get better contributions from the likes of P.J. Tucker or Bryn Forbes, each of whom had double-digit points the last outing in Milwaukee. But what other NBA DFS picks are out there that can give you a great return on investment? Before locking in any NBA DFS picks for Thursday’s 2021 NBA Playoffs action, be sure to see the core lineup selections, player pool and NBA DFS strategy from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

And on Wednesday, McClure included Clippers guard Paul George as one of his top picks. The result: George went off for 37 points, 16 rebounds and five assists to return 71 points on DraftKings and over 67 on FanDuel, his most all season on both sites. Anybody who had him in their lineup was well on the way to a profitable day.

Top NBA DFS picks for Thursday, June 17
One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Thursday is Nets forward Kevin Durant. Already a Hall of Fame lock, the 11-time All-Star had, perhaps, the game of his career on Tuesday. With Kyrie Irving (ankle) out and James Harden (hamstring) ineffective, Durant exploded for 49 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists while playing all 48 minutes. His 49 points were the second-most in a triple-double game in postseason history.
Irving will be out again on Thursday as the series shifts back to Milwaukee, but Durant is actually performing better on the road than at home this postseason. He’s averaging 34.8 points in enemy territory, compared to 32 points at Barclays Center, and he’s scored at least 28 points in each of the Nets’ four road playoff games. With a chance to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, Durant is a must-start for Thursday’s NBA DFS lineups.
Part of McClure’s NBA DFS strategy for Thursday also includes stacking Durant with Harden, who returned to action in Game 5 after missing all but 43 seconds of the series with a hamstring injury. Harden looked rusty with five points on 10 percent shooting, but he appeared to be healthy and played 46 minutes.
The good news is that after initially being listed as out, and then being upgraded to doubtful before receiving the questionable designation for Game 5, Harden isn’t even listed on the injury report for Game 6. So, it seems rust is the only thing that would prevent Harden from being his usual self, and Game 5’s efforts should have shaken off that rust.
Harden was averaging 27.8 points, 10.6 assists and 7.2 rebounds before getting hurt, and he also posted a 34-point, 12-rebound vs. the Bucks in the regular season. Expect Harden to look close to his normal self on Thursday, especially with the Nets still missing Irving.
