Carlton Palmer has tipped Paul Pogba to have his best season in the Premier League.
The midfielder started the season in red-hot form, recording seven assists in four games – a new league record.
Though he has cooled off a bit since then, the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus in the summer has led to many people believing Pogba could break the assist record currently held by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and Man City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne.
Palmer is of the belief that should manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer let the World Cup winner loose this season it could be a very special one.
“I just think with Pogba, he needs to have that license to just go and play,” he told This is Futbol.
“And now with Ronaldo, who can go over the top, come short, and his array of passing, Pogba, I think if he stays fit, he might have his best season in the UK.”
Pogba’s current deal expires next summer and he will be free to speak to clubs outside of the Premier League from January 1.
