Section of M60 shut after crash with police at scene

Police are at the scene of a crash this evening that shut a section of the M60.

The M60 exit slip road to both the M62 and M602 at Junction 12 for Eccles Interchange was shut by emergency services, Highways England said.

A traffic camera photo shows long queues of stationary traffic due to thie closure, which was lifted just before 10.45pm.

Highways England had earlier tweeted: “The # M60 clockwise exit slip to both the # M62 and # M602 at # J12 ( # EcclesInterchange # M62 # M602 ) is currently CLOSED due to a collision. @ gmptraffic

@ NWmwaypolice & @ NWAmbulance are currently at scene, Traffic Officers are making as well.”

M60 reopened again

The M60 has reopened again, Highways England have said.

They tweeted: “#M60 clockwise exit at #J12 is now back open again following the earlier collision. We’ve managed to move the vehicle and debris clear of the road, and it’s now awaiting recovery.”

Queues are building in the area, local traffic servers have said.
