This is the shocking moment a cyclist was kicked and dragged to the ground as a gang tried to steal his bike – only to be saved by a bare-chested passer-by.
The attempted robbery was caught on film by witnesses who recorded the attack from a nearby balcony.
In the footage the victim can be heard shouting ‘Yo, help me’ and ‘Get off me’ as one of the muggers calmly says ‘Get off your bike’.
They can be seen kicking the cyclist to the head, before they drag him to the floor and attempt to prise the bike from his grasp.
A bare-chested passer-by then shouts ‘Oi, what you doing?’ and the four lads let the cyclist go as they they slowly walk off, seemingly unconcerned at the prospect of being caught.
As he cycles away the victim shouts ‘What have I done to you?’.
The incident took place on Chester Road, Hulme, at about 9pm on Tuesday night.
Greater Manchester Police say there is no record of the incident being reported.
