Wolves Are Preparing To Smash Their Club-Record Transfer This Summer
Wolverhampton Wanderers are wasting no time in preparing to reinforce their current squad after it has been reported that they are ready to smash their club-record transfer this summer.
The Premier League side, who have had a stellar season so far, broke their transfer record when they completed the signing of Raúl Jiménez for €38m earlier this month.
Well, it looks like Wolves manager Nuno Espírito Santo has identified his next target and wants the club to splash out once again.
The French publication reports that Wolves would be ready to pay up to €42m (£36.5m) for the 24-year-old French midfielder.
It is added that Wolves already have a ‘verbal agreement’ in place for a deal, but they could face obstacles in trying to lower the potential cost of the player.
Sanson signed a contract extension with the Ligue 1 side in December last year, which keeps him at the Orange Vélodrome until 2022.
He has made 78 appearances for the club and scored 14 times. In the current season for Marseille, Sanson has made 32 appearances, scored four times and also registered four assists across all competitions.
Sanson had also been linked with other Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, but Wolves believe that they can outdo both sides and bring him to the Molineux Stadium for the following season.
Would Sanson be a hit at Wolves?
