Frenkie de Jong Sent Toni Kroos Spinning Back To Madrid
Frenkie de Jong sent Toni Kroos spinning back to Madrid during last night’s Euro 2020 qualifier.
The 21-year-old Dutch ace starred in midfield though he was unable to steer his country to victory. But he did produce a moment of magic.
In the first-half, De Jong failed to make an impression. However, he lit up the second-half with a superb performance.
And deep into stoppage time, De Jong sent Kroos for a spin with an outrageous turn.
The Ajax midfielder, who’ll join Barcelona in the summer, also completed 62 passes with a 86% pass accuracy, not to mention recording eight tackles.
De Jong and Kroos will renew hostilities next season in La Liga.
Kroos, though, had the last laugh after helping Germany to a 3-2 win over Netherlands away from home. The visitors raced into a two-goal lead thanks to strikes from Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry.
The hosts drew proceedings courtesy of second-half goals from Matthijs de Ligt and Memphis Depay.
Yet Germany secured all three points in dramatic fashion after Nico Schulz netted in the 90th minute.
