Leon Bailey Scores Brilliant Free Kick Against Bayern Munich - FootyNews.co.uk

Leon Bailey is one of the most promising young players in Europe but the Bayer Leverkusen forward has been quite quiet this season, he’s turned the volume back up with his free kick on Saturday afternoon against Bayern Munich.

It’s about a year ago since Leon Bailey became every England fans favourite footballer that they’d never seen. Not that no one had seen him play but a large majority.

That was because the Bayer Leverkusen suddenly started getting linked with a switch to being English as rumours went around that Gareth Southgate was ready to call him up for the World Cup.

However it seems that the Jamaican was never actually eligible to switch to the Three Lions as, despite holding English passports, his grandparents weren’t born in the country, as it happens England didn’t need him in the end.

This season though Bailey’s form has taken a hit and the 21 year old had only scored once going into the Bundesliga game with Bayern Munich.

The fact you’re reading this article makes me believe you already know that his tally is now two goals. Against Bayern he scored a brilliant free kick:

Even the Bundesliga champions were impressed with the goal:

Hopefully Bailey can start finding form again and, for the sake of Jamaica, he doesn’t start think he can play for countries he’s not eligible for.
