Romelu Lukaku only had respect for former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho when he was asked a question about him and current boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the 3-1 win against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Romelu Lukaku provided two crucial passes which led to goals and ultimately United’s advancement into the F.A. Cup 5th round.

Reds interim boss Solskjaer has had the perfect start to his United tenure.

His team have won all eight games following Mourinho’s departure.

But when asked about the two coaches, Lukaku showed appreciation and respect towards his former gaffer.

“I’m not going to compare the two managers,” Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur on Eleven Sports.

“I believe that Mourinho has done a lot for his club. He won trophies, so I have a lot of respect for him.

“He is the coach who signed me. The United striker also said a few words about his new boss.”

He added: “Solskjaer has just started his story here. I hope that all goes well. I just hope we finish in the top four and that we win a trophy.”

United’s impressive run under the Norwegian started with a 5-1 hammering over relegation battling Cardiff City.

In the league, they’ve since gone on to beat Huddersfield Town, Bournemouth, Newcastle United, Spurs and Brighton.

Their win away at Arsenal will have elated Reds fans eagerly awaiting Monday’s draw.

But perhaps Solskjaer’s biggest will come in the Champions League against Ligue 1 juggernauts Paris Saint Germain next month – and then a bitter rival match against current league leaders Liverpool at Old Trafford.
