Morelos' Yellow And Red Cards For Rangers This Season Are Ridiculous

Morelos' Yellow And Red Cards For Rangers This Season Are Ridiculous - FootyNews.co.uk

Alfredo Morelos has shown how brilliant he can be in the final third for Rangers this season, but there’s no denying that he has been a liability for Gers boss Steven Gerrard.

After all, the 22-year-old Colombian forward was sent off in Sunday’s Old Firm derby at Celtic Park after picking up a straight red for his challenge on Celtic captain Scott Brown.

The Rangers star’s stats for this season showed off his fantastic goalscoring exploits, yet it doesn’t paint a pretty picture for the yellow and red cards that he has received.

Across all competitions, the Colombia international has picked up an astonishing 17 yellow and five reds.

At the same time, he has scored 29 times for his side and has signed two contracts with the club.

Morelos signed a contract with the Scottish Premiership side back in September and was followed up with a new deal earlier this month, keeping him at the Ibrox Stadium until 2023.

Morelos’ red card during the match against Celtic caught the attention of former Hibernian player Tam McManus, who revealed how angry he would have been if he were a Rangers player at half-time.

“Morelos is an absolute liability,” he wrote on Twitter.

“If I was a Rangers player at HT, I would rip Morelos head off for that. Yet again he kills his teammates.”

Odsonne Édouard opened the scoring for Celtic in the first half, while Ryan Kent equalised for ten-men Rangers.

However, James Forrest fired late on to seal all three points for Neil Lennon’s men.

Celtic’s win has moved them 13 points clear of second-placed Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Think Morelos will be sent off again before the end of the season?
